Once in a while you come across a great idea that happens to coincide with the direction communities are taking. The Cityfood Growers website is one such idea. It is a simple concept wonderfully put together with a phenomenal array of creative and common sense sets of information for those who want to produce food in their own backyard. Not only is the content first class but the connectedness of the site and its ease of use are of the highest order. The Cityfood Growers site will add tremendous value to people's lives and also to the sustainability of our communities.

I feel your Gardener subscription site would be worth twice the amount I paid.  Your site is my ‘bible’ when it comes to what to do when and how.  I planned this year’s crop rotation by using the resources you provide on your site and I have learned a considerable amount about gardening in this area.  We moved here from the tropics so I had to re-learn how to grow.  When we moved here last July we had a vacant block that had been in-filled with rock, glass, etc.  We had to bring in good soil and my husband built three shade houses to protect the young plants.  We also have 12 raised beds and two open beds.  We’ve planted a mini orchard and a few lesser known fruit trees.  We use only organic practices and water only with rain water or bore water.  Without your site I think it would have been a lot harder to plan and learn.

Congratulations on a superb site. Its an incredibly valuable resource for organic gardeners.

I am not an experienced gardener, but I am learning quickly and everything I need to know is on Cityfood Growers website, it makes growing my own food so easy.

The Gardener subscriber web site has proven to be invaluable with selecting suitable fruit trees and veg for our orchard and veggie garden. It has also provided me with a wealth of easily accessible information on soil maintenance, pest management, crop rotation ideas, organic & bio dynamic gardening principles and general food gardening information.

We loved your website and think it will do very well. You have amazing information on planting times and think everyone would benefit by joining as a full member. We will certainly promote your site on ours as well as inform members on other sites that we are apart of. You are years a head of us on your food gardening detailed information.

The Cityfood Growers website takes the guesswork out of vegetable gardening, whether you’re a beginner or competent gardener, there is something for everyone to discover and learn here.

Even more inspiring was having Peter guide our Permaculture group through this comprehensive website knowing that he is passionate about growing good healthy organic produce and that he ‘practices what he preaches’.  As we are about to start our community garden such a tool as the Cityfood Growers website will be invaluable in many ways and I know that we will be referring to it often.

Tammy Holland, Caboolture Permaculture Group

I am completely amazed and impressed by your web site. It is unique and a masterpiece. I am looking forward to referring to the various tools etc. I've also read through the Biodynamic practice notes thoroughly and found them to be very comprehensive on the subject.

Abigail, Brisbane, Australia

The Cityfood Growers website has been comprehensively thought out and user friendly for a huge range of gardening needs. And then there is the framework to trade fresh produce - how good is that? Well done Peter!

Brian Keats, Astro Calendar and Mullumbimby Biodynamic Group

I love the way you have designed it. Very nice set up with all the links to easily access the vegetables and suggesting the time of year for planting of each.

Melanie, USA

The Cityfood Growers web site is full of interesting facts and has proven itself useful in many ways as a resource for those interested in gardening and community connection. The site has a planting guide second to none and is useful to ensure you are right on with your planting and preparation. Peter has done a great job with putting this excellent resource together in a way that is easy to maneuver around and to use as a companion to aid and deliver the best results possible for our gardening endeavors.

This site is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for for a while now. All the information on planting times, companion planting for the wide varitey of plants on the site will be a well used and valuable resource for me. This along with the potential to contact other local growers and information on biodynamic processes makes it the perfect site for me.

Daniel Hutchins, Wellington, NZ

The Cityfood Growers web site is a treasure trove of useful organic gardening information.

Scarlett Patrick, Brisbane City Council, Australia

The Cityfood Growers website is one of the most impressive sites I have encountered. The geographic specific detail eliminates many mistakes home gardeners make in planting the wrong plant in the wrong zone. The information on the growing requirements of specific crops is excellent as is the non-chemical pest control advice. The City Food Grower website is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to grow their own produce.

Mary Trigger, CEO, Sustainable Gardening Australia

Love your site.  I am a local Samford resident and my vegie patch is starting to look really good.

Carole, Australia

We just used the calendar search today and last week with some interns to plant crops in our demonstration garden. It was extremely helpful.

In the few days I have been a member the amount of practical information and ease of access to this information has impressed me greatly. I look forward to engaging in a dialogue with other members, sharing experiences and learning about more effective ways to grow healthy, nutritious food for our table while maintaining vibrant soils. Many thanks to Peter for creating this wonderful site.
